MATTERHORN

MATTERHORN depicts the most iconic peak of the Alps in abstract form, powerful, silent, and monumental. Stylized in cool shades of blue, the mountain becomes a symbol of natural force, clarity, and grandeur. The geometric reduction enhances the presence of the motif and invites quiet contemplation. A symbol of permanence and longing at once. MATTERHORN is part of the Blue in a Square art series featuring 250+ artworks.

The Mountain as Prophet.

Signature Mountain. Looking around the world, the Matterhorn seems to be one of the very few peaks you recognize instantly by its silhouette. That takes me back to my former life as a creative director: creating something with powerful recognizability. Nature provides astounding templates for this. When something possesses such singularity, something wonderful happens—a magnetic pull emerges. Anyone who has stood before the Matterhorn, or wandered through Zermatt, knows exactly what I mean.

When you see the mountain, something almost uncanny happens. It’s the familiar face in a crowd, omething you feel close to and trust. No wonder there are countless paintings, artworks, photographs, graphics, and sketches of this “mountain of mountains.” That’s precisely what I aim for in my art: to create something instantly identifiable and instantly reidentifiable. Signature art with maximum recognition. My series “Blue in a Square” intends nothing less than to become a brand. In my vision, you encounter these works wherever someone deliberately wants to send a positive signal, once, again, and at scale.

This is why companies, law firms, medical practices, offices, and institutions are ideal for setting a marker with a selection from “Blue in a Square”. A marker for diversity, equality, democracy, freedom, and an open, liberal society. Art can do that. If a mountain can, art can, too: it sets a sign.

Keynography Art

Keynography Art is a new digital art form founded by Christof Hintze, with no AI being used or applied, created in Apple Keynote—originally a presentation program. Through the precise interplay of complex stencils, masks, lines, and many layers and shadows, shapes, depth, and spatial effects are built up—like a collage, but entirely digital. The result feels like a graphic relief: clean, detailed, and surprisingly three-dimensional, even though it is made from simple Keynote elements. More about it in my bio…
