LIPS

LIPS is a Pop Art quote from pop culture: a comic-style close-up of lips that burst like speech bubbles. Bold dots, crisp lines, and deep blue turn voice into image—desire, wit, and attitude translated into minimal form. The piece nods to classic comics and advertising while claiming its own present tense: playful, stylish, unmistakable. Hang it as a punchline on your wall, or as a whisper that keeps speaking. LIPS celebrates the fun of pictures that talk. A bright wink to pop history and now! LIPS is part of the art series “Blue in a Squar”, which includes 300+ artworks.

Famous for 15 seconds.

Popular, that’s what everyone suddenly wanted to be. It culminated in Andy Warhol’s line: “In the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes.” How visionary that was is obvious today, even if 15 minutes have often shrunk to 15 seconds. Doing what’s popular (and makes you popular) became the mantra of an era. As so often, art picked up on this shift early—if not ahead of its time.

Pop culture introduced a new currency: fame. Becoming famous, being famous. Everyday life turned into a stage; self-presentation spread everywhere. Everything became show, runway, performance. Self-worth got measured by visibility. People did all sorts of things to gain notoriety—Saturday Night Fever captures this momentum perfectly. The trivial was elevated to art: tomato soup cans, diaper packaging—nothing was safe from becoming iconic. The spotlight could fall on anyone and anything. That’s why Pop Art has always captivated me: if anything can be art, then I can make art—or be it. The shift accelerated so quickly that street art (“graffiti”) became art as well. By definition, art broke free from the narrow confines of the past.

That is precisely what pop culture and Pop Art, record. The artwork “Lips” is a homage to that time and its aesthetics, the era of my generation. It freed my idea of art and shaped me profoundly. The artwork “Lips” is online-only via my Art Store: inquire, receive a quote, order, and have it delivered. All works come ready to hang.

Keynography Art

Keynography Art is a new digital art form founded by Christof Hintze, with no AI being used or applied, created in Apple Keynote—originally a presentation program. Through the precise interplay of complex stencils, masks, lines, and many layers and shadows, shapes, depth, and spatial effects are built up—like a collage, but entirely digital. The result feels like a graphic relief: clean, detailed, and surprisingly three-dimensional, even though it is made from simple Keynote elements. More about it in my bio…
