BALANCE
BALANCE is a play of form, surface, and transparency. Three organic elements float above one another, seemingly weightless — a balance between line, color, and void. Rendered in cool blue tones, the work conveys calm and concentration, reduced to its essence. It invites stillness and leaves space for interpretation. BALANCE is part of the Blue in a Square art series featuring 250+ artworks.

Creating equilibrium also means adding weight where it’s needed. To achieve balance, you have to read the counterpart well. For a long time I mistakenly believed that equality could be achieved through restraint. Often, that’s not the case. Balance arises when comparable conditions exist on both sides.
With the artwork “Balance” I want to make this visible. The objects relate to one another; they appear to balance upon each other—much like so many things in life: relationships, friendships, partnerships. When things are in equilibrium, people meet at eye level. That would be a desirable state among all things, an ideal we’re allowed to dream of, even if we may never fully reach it. That doesn’t mean we should lose sight of it. I once saw something similar to “Balance,” and it stuck with me. I kept it in my “backpack of memories” until the right moment came to bring it out and stage it for my idea.
This work is available exclusively through my online studio sale, my Art Store, directly from the artist. It fosters a new closeness to the art and to the artist; here, too, it’s about eye level and balance. If “Balance” resonates with you and you’d like to purchase it, simply use the online form or send an email. I’ll promptly provide a concrete written quote.
