TATI

“TATI” recalls the elegant clumsiness of Jacques Tati’s cinematic persona – long coat, pipe, forward lean. The bright figure stands against deep blue, doubled von by an enlarged shadow that trails behind like memory or aura. The scene captures Tati’s soft kind of comedy: quiet attention, curiosity, tenderness toward the absurd details of daily life. It is a portrait of observation without judgment – gentle humor as a way of seeing the world. “TATI” is an artwork from the “Blue in a Square” art series with over 300 works. These artworks are available exclusively for direct order via this website.

How to create artworks out of nothing in difficult times.

Jacques Tati is one of my great heroes. I have seen all of his films several times. My deep admiration for his work has grown again and again over the course of my life. How one can create so many wonderful things with so few means. An observer of the highest order. A visionary. When you watch his films, you’re seeing contemporary history – just as in Children of Paradise or Bicycle Thieves. Tati made me infinitely curious about people who can tell stories. About the unexpected. He made me curious about Fellini and François Truffaut. That film once was an art form – that is his legacy.

To speak merely of passion, love and obsession falls short here. I often think about how desperate he must have been, how helpless, how powerless, how penniless, how often he must have felt hopeless. And still he kept going. Absorbing all the disappointments. Against all adversity and resistance. Always risking everything for something that, for a long time, existed only in his head, in his imagination. Today we only see his works of art, but we do not see his suffering. And what he created is truly impressive. It fills me with great humility.

The artwork “Tati” is part of the art series devoted to “positive memory culture”. And in mine, Tati must not be missing. You can choose this artwork on its own or put together a series. You can also start a series or a collection. The aim is that people surround themselves with positive impulses through my art – or use these positive impulses for people who are precious and important to them.

Keynography Art

Keynography Art is a new digital art form founded by Christof Hintze, with no AI being used or applied, created in Apple Keynote—originally a presentation program. Through the precise interplay of complex stencils, masks, lines, and many layers and shadows, shapes, depth, and spatial effects are built up—like a collage, but entirely digital. The result feels like a graphic relief: clean, detailed, and surprisingly three-dimensional, even though it is made from simple Keynote elements. More about it in my bio…
