INSPIRATION VASARELY

“INSPIRATION VASARELY”, Four circular forms, infused with gentle gradients in shades of blue, evoke the optical experiments of Op Art pioneer Victor Vasarely. The interplay of light and shadow creates movement, depth, and tension within a framework of strict geometric order. “INSPIRATION VASARELY” is a homage to visual thinking and the power of reduction—reinterpreted in the monochrome spectrum of blue. A work poised between structure, illusion, and contemplative calm. “INSPIRATION VASARELY” is part of the art series “Blue in a Square”, which includes 300+ artworks.

Op-Art in all its dimensions.

As a child, I was constantly coaxed into visiting all kinds of art exhibitions. My enthusiasm back then was limited. My fondest memories are of the museums where you were given those felt slipper covers that were perfect for sliding. Which I did extensively. Looking back, however, a number of artworks and with them several artists, have stayed with me forever. It’s crazy how we are shaped, educated, trained without even noticing it.

Vasarely is one of them. His way of looking at the world drew me in like magic. The mathematical aspect of his images. The architectural quality in his works. The graphic quality. What complex worlds can be created from simple geometric forms. To this day, it shapes my view of graphic design. That clarity. That precision. And that sense of the impressive. When I quote from my positive memory culture, Vasarely must not be missing. My fascination with his works has not diminished to this day. That’s how formative my sliding sessions were.

The artwork “Interpretation Vasarely” is my transformation, my translation—my interpretation into my visual language. This way, I can now hang something similar on my wall. And, remarkably, it has almost the same effect on me. If you are interested in a work, or this work, from the series, all you need to do is fill out the online form or send an email. I will respond promptly with a detailed quote and a proposed delivery date.
